When to apply for residency in Italy

Post new topic

Anita DAmato

Hi. My husband and I are both Australian and plan to spend 6 months in Italy from November.

I hold and Italian passport and he has a Maltese passport.

When should we apply for residency? Do we apply before we leave or after arrival? What is the process?  What documents are needed?

thanks!

Cheryl

Hello Anita DAmato,

You should definitely read the Living in Italy guide for expats, there are articles about Visas for Italy.

Also, I advise you to check with the Italy embassy in your current country. They will know how to assist you with the required residency documents in Italy.1f609.svg
