Thanks for the heads up Bob. Yet another informative video from Paul not just for US expats and visitors but I would guess most western countries embassies have similar arrangements in place when the shit hits the fan.

I know the British embassy will repatriate a UK citizen at no expense albeit their passport, like the USA, will be confiscated until monies are repaid. Fair enough.

@Enzyte Bob He wasn't/isn't the head honcho of the Embassy. He's the head of the American Citizens Service Unit. I only say that because in Paul's comments was also another person thinking the top dog of the Embassy came to visit. That would I believe be called the US AMBASSADOR to the Philippines. Just a fyi, this guy is only head of his unit, within the embassy.

@Larry Fisher Correct, and I also believe Paul Old Dog is only supposed to be representing Americans who live in the Dumaguete region, not the entire Philippines, which might be an important consideration. For us, Paul is easy to get hold ahold of but in other regions like Iloilo I believe other people have been selected.

over the last few yrs i watched now and then a few of Paul's vids and all i can say is he talks the talk of a car sales man the vid on the embasy was an exeption . ppl who laughf at there own humor all the time usualy are not ,that funny . but i am very weary about most of those youtube vloggers as there words are not written in stone and there main objective is making others pay for there live style hehe.

i rarely subscribe to a channel for that reason

those i do subscribe to are filipina pea (nbr one hehehe) cutting edge engeneering , tips from a shipswrihgt and that's it  all the rest i ocasionaly watch , manny times i stop after a few minutes as i find them boring ,not acurate or misleeding .

but hey i am who i am ...... the sailor man .

ps i know with this comment i open up the door for a lot of negativity ,go a head wont bother me as long you dont expect anny reaktion to it ,cant be bothered with that .

It seems Paul has met up with many Expats in person. Saying he talks the talk of a car salesman sounds like a Sailor that drank too much Grog. No one pays to watch his videos, if you can't laugh at Yourself Dirk, who can you laugh at? Certainly Pauls' videos are on top of the food chain compared to others.

@pnwcyclist i never wury about negative comments just ignore them hahahaha if it makes them happy let them he , as long there bothered with me they dont anoy others and i cant be anoyed ,lol .

@dirk.c. I watch most of Old Flogs stuff, but I think Every Man Has A Story is far better content, at least Mark doesn't have his Missus show her tits and ass just to get subscribers. Dumaguete is now called Dramagute thanks to these clowns, personally I think they make dickheads out of themselves.

@@Crane10 my favorit is the filipina Pea ,she is good looking ,inteligent and give very good information and she has a great sence of humor (she dos not need to laugh at her own jokes her viewers do that for her). the way this girl brings the info is non bias up to point and acurate , if ya wanna have a good laugh and at the same time get great info have a look at her channel .

cutting edge engeneering is a australian with great vids on how he machines repairs on heavy duty earth moving machines.

tips from a shipswright i watch as he is a great builder of boats and a great carpenter so i can get some ideas from him on how to build a boat to go fishing hehehe.

these are the only 3 utube channels that i have subscribbed to .90% of the other channels i find not to my interests ,boring and manny times giving wrong info or just to be internet parasites living on utube income to fullfil there lifestyle .

but that's just my opinion he .

Well judging by the aforementioned replies it seems that our vlogger friends engender mixed opinions.

Ultimately all these YouTubers rely on repeat viewers. If the material is not informative and enjoyable to watch people will.. well turn off. They will be judged on their viewership figures which translate to income. In order to monetise a vlog you need 17,000 viewers.

I have myself been entertained by all those mentioned above including two that missed out on the free promotion: Alex Kosh & WorldZoom.

The interview between the Filipina Pea and Paul (WZ) is one of the best I've seen, not forgetting when a Polish guy tried to hit on FP towards the end of the interview - priceless.

I've watched Paul's videos and enjoyed them at first but I no longer find them very interesting. My wife and I liked to watch Mark Nowhereman's YouTube videos instead. I don't think much of Mark. He is in love with himself and adds a bunch of political nonsense to his videos but if you skip through all that, his videos are pretty good. The earlier videos had these Filipinas going around Manila visiting the poorest of the poor. People living under bridges, in push carts or just a piece of tarp attached to a wall. They would give them food, supplies and money. I think the girls made their own video which violated their contract so he canned them.

The last couple years it has been his employee named Caesar going around the provinces doing charity work like taking he families shopping and to Jollibee and setting them up with a sari sari style businesses. I haven't watched any of his videos lately so I checked some recent videos yesterday and looks like Caesar is back in Manila.

If you like videos about the real plight of poor Filipinos, Mark has some good ones, just skip over the stuff between the videos. Mark has even said that if he became president he would ban interracial marriage in the Philippines so tune in for the videos, not Mark's rhetoric.
