Post new topic

We are entering a mixed marriage. I am a female American getting married to a male Moroccan.

We have gone through the entire process of getting married everything approved and signed..

but,  we were approved for marriage AFTER i returned back to the USA..

how soon do I need to return BACK to Morocco to sign the marriage license?

30- 60 days?

You should return within a reasonable time that want to be married with your partner! Like waiting a year.. Probably not. A couple of months should not be an issue.

The best thing to do is for you or your partner to contact the adoul and advise of the situation that you're not there but the marriage is approved and fix a date with thr adoul for when you will return to sign the marriage contract.

When your adoul received the permission to marry from the court they would have filed out the hard copy of the contract in their "big book of marriages" and next will be typing it up on the computer and printing the actual marriage contract that you keep.

Both the "big book of marriages" and the paper contract need both your signatures to be officially married.

Try get in touch with the adoul and advise when you will return to sign the contract 👍

FYI the "big book of marriages" in the adouls book he keeps in the office where he or she writes every marriage contract they perform!

well, well, it looks like we have a love-struck adventurer on our hands! Don't worry, I won't judge. But let me ask you this: why wait a couple of months when you can elope to Las Vegas and get married by Elvis himself? Just think of the memories you'll create! The cheesy photo ops, the Elvis impersonator, the thrill of getting married in a chapel that looks like it was taken straight out of a movie set. Plus, you won't have to worry about that pesky "big book of marriages" or the adoul. Just make sure you pack some extra sequins for the occasion!

It's valid for 3 months , so you will need to return and marry before the 3 months is up.
