Hi Everyone,  I am Evon. Can you guys give me any recommendations for money transfer from USA to Spain for a property purchase.  After talking to few banks, I am definitely not happy with their charges and hidden fees.

Robert M A

I used Wise for the very same thing.  Their exchange rates are great and minimal fees.  Also, very easy to navigate and perform the transaction.

Open an online account with Wise (formerly Transfer Wise)

Yup, like @Robert M A and @Phil lubrin I am a big Wise fan, have been using them for years.

It's a bit more flexible than just a simple money transfer from A to B. You can create accounts to hold different currencies, and (for most countries) these have local IBANs which help for sending/receiving money in that country (and paying bills). You also get an international debit card.

Wise is now a UK PLC with a 6 billion UKP market cap, so I'm guessing that they're a fairly reputable outfit. :-) However, it is not a bank, it is an EMI (Electronic Money Institution) regulated by the UK's FCA (Financial Conduct Authority).

Hi Evon, from my experience the best way is to bring as much money as you are allowed in cash and found a good money exchange place. I withdraw with my US card and the rate was horrible.

@Robert M A Oh no! my friends advised me to stay away from Wise. But I did my research too. They have so many bad reviews online. Anyway This platform was really helpful and thank you Robert and everyone. Anyway I found this international money transfer Magna Financial and I had a nice experience with them. It was my first time but they gave us a very good rate. Always read the reviews online, I usually read trust pilot reviews for similar matters. I am sharing their number here, I hope I will benefit to someone.***

@m9696 Hi there  I use Revolut for smaller amounts but for larger amounts to buy my house I used a colleague's currency exchange .  You have to register for a quote and so I would need a name email and telephone number please to get you a code for a price.  What part of Spain are you moving to?  We are based on Costa Del Sol.  Do get in touch.  Kind regards Sally

@sallyherdman1 Hi Sally, Thank you for your reply. I actually completed my transaction with Magna Financial. I never wanted to go for a bank and people here agreed to use a currency broker. Good choice sally, I almost caught up for a high exchange rates of a bank in States. This is a very helpful platform.
