D7 and D8 Residency Requirement?

Post new topic

Question to the forum.  If you qualify for either visa but need to leave the PT for work related reasons, are the residency requirements for contiguous months?  Or contiguous days?  For example I need to travel to work from Portugal in January 15 then leave and come back February 2.  Does that fulfill the residency requirement?     Thanks.

@Cheapchino both visas are resident visas, so the same rules apply.

You CAN'T stay OUT of Portugal for more than 6 months in a row or 8 months in breaks during the length of your resident permit (24 months).

Thanks for the information.  That being said it is possible for a resident visa but not become a tax resident if you go less than 183 days per year.  For example in PT 10 days per month x 12 is 120 days per year?
