Post new topic

NewBrazil

I haven’t seen any coin shops in Brazil. I would like to be able to purchase. Silver and Gold coins if possible in Brazil. What cities would these shop be available in Brazil. Is there another way beside jewelers I know it’s  available mostly in 18 K and silver. Is this the only way to buy gold and silver here in Brazil. I heard of shop that buy gold from the small miners and there are refineries here in Brazil.

There will be a convention in Rio, in 2025

A former client of mine, who passed away last year ( Polish Brazilian, RIP ) used to be part of this.

They trade coins amongst themselves.

Wholesale Precious metal buyers and refiners are not to give you in any edge on buying gold. Their source is theirs for their own advantage, not yours.  You take in insider tips, from strangers you will get burned, simple as that

You go out of the blue asking for insiders, you are a sitting duck asking to be swindled. Someone will see you as an opportunity to short deal you under false pretenses.

The organization I just posted under the previous reply is comprised of collectors, and more than likely, in good faith, to refer you to the rigth people. Consider joining in as a dues paying member , attend get togheters, and you might be lead to the right sources.

it's how it works here.

The Gold trading district in Sao Paulo, is Rua Barao de Paranapiacaba, Se,Sao Paulo There are a half dozen buildings in that alley choc filled with gold buyers. You can also lease office space there ( rental rates are dirt cheap on that region ), and pay per diem for ushers on the ground concourse to scooter them up towards you.

That is for processed gold, your desperado sales, or estate sales..

Miners, fat chance. It's a closed guarded secret. Every open mining concession for gold extraction, whether selling legit or contraband, has bankrolling offices in Sao Paulo,to bring in gold.  There is a specific building in Avenida Paulista that is filled with these investors, some issuing phony certificates so to smuggle the gold out of the country.

It's mostly a Jewish and Arab controlled racket. There is a reason why most of them live in expensive apartments on nearby Higienopolis and Jardim Paulista.

Also, I've been told, tongue in cheek, Franca, a town in Sao Paulo that used to be big on shoe making, has transictioned, as a side gig, into gold trading.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franca

I was just asking a question not trying to solicit or advertise any business. Since I was interested is there any coin shops in Brazil. I have never seen one and this is where you usually can find gold and silver. Since I not sure where the currency is headed and next month. Brazil is part of BRICS where they may be changing currency.

Numismatica is the term employed  towards  coin collectors , and the skills of evaluating a coin's worth.

Get around by, pay yours dues, and ask about meetings.

These are very conservative and wary of strangers group.  And yet, they are, as a group, very knowledgeable of coin values. They are a meticulous bunch.

Baby Steps.
