Good Evening all, Does anyone know if there is paid parking at the sea port? Thinking of doing some island hopping and would like to leave our vehicle in Ormoc while out and about. Any info would be appreciated.

There is no paid parking that I know of. I've asked the same question and never received a response so I traveled by van and left my vehicle home. I believe they allowed parking at the sea port years ago but no more.

Thank you for the response.

I only go to Ormoc to take the SuperCat to Cebu to visit the US Embassy. The parking situation in Ormoc has me driving the extra half hour to Tacloban and flying to Manila instead. At least I can park the car at the Tacloban airport. The vans are dangerous on those mountain roads so I prefer to drive.

Parking, opportunities abound for the astute no matter the country. I remember going to visit Venice in Italy, golly at least 15/17 years ago and the parking back then cost me 45 Euros, probably 60 or 70 now and that's just for the day.

At least here we can park the car in town in a parking lot for 50 Pesos all day, and the security guard while he's not sleeping watching the lot/cars.

Different in all countries.

Cheers, Steve.

I must not be astute.

I wouldn't say parking opportunities abound, especially if multi day, as OP implied. In some areas it's just not worth the risk. No knowledge of Ormoc, but I will not leave the car overnight at the pier in Dumaguete.  Back same day, no issue. You could however, leave it in the downtown Duma garage and take a trike to the pier, something we have done when island hopping for a few days..

I asked about overnight parking in Ormoc on this forum, no response. I also joined Ormoc FB and asked there also and again no response. I  called the sea terminal and was told they do not allow overnight parking and did not know of any place in town that had overnight parking. I didn't see anything that remotely resembled a parking lot on the bus ride in or the tricycle ride to the land terminal when leaving.

What a stupid reply - I must be dumb too.

The op was asking about OVERNIGHT parking in Ormoc, they used to let you park at the SeaCat terminal they no longer do.

The hotels won't let you park there so unless, you have a relative/friend with a spot they can share somewhere (like we do), you're stuffed and forced to take the van etc.

I did find parking in Ormoc thanks to Google Earth. There is free parking at the site of the old Gaisano called City Central parking, but it is not secure so park overnight at your own risk. I tried to post a photo of the parking lot but that feature doesn't seem to be working.

I had another idea, rent a room at a hotel that has secure parking and only use the parking. I emailed a couple hotels and found one that offers parking for P300 per night, no need to rent the room. I have to go to Cebu in a couple months to pick up my SRRV visa when it arrives so I'm going to try the hotel parking.
