Hello everyone,

When you move in Cyprus, relationships with your neighbours can play a vital role in your well-being and integration. Share your experiences of the interactions and routines that punctuate your daily life in Cyprus:

Tell us about your relationships with your neighbours in Cyprus. Do you have any anecdotes to share, moments of solidarity or community initiatives that have touched you?

Are there any specific customs or cultural norms to be respected between neighbours? For example, is it normal to introduce yourself to your neighbours and invite them over when you move in Cyprus?

Do you have any tips or advice for fostering good neighbourly relations in Cyprus? How do you deal with the differences and diversities that can exist within the community?

Are there any initiatives to organise activities between neighbours, whether official events or spontaneous gatherings?

Are your neighbours expats or locals? How does this influence your experience in Cyprus?

By sharing your experiences, you enrich everyone's understanding of life in Cyprus and help many people to plan their life abroad.

Thank you all for your contributions.

My neighbours are locals but only one speaks to us because we have connected parking so basically they see us and we see them so they can't avoid us, but the rest not even a hallo.

Next door are from Belfast and only come over for a week or 2 every few months. The bottom of the garden are in the UK most of the time so not here much. Over the road is  Cyprot women I think and only had a good morning on the times we are outside when getting into the car. We have another single lady down the road and we have had a few conversations with her. Most people we bump into when walking around the roads say good morning but not more. Generally most people near us say good morning but that is about all. Several have said we must have a drink sometime but nothing has come of it!

We have Ukrainian Russian Polish African German Moldovan Bulgarian Scottish English Cypriot Greek Canadian neighbours but similar experiences as others most will say a polite hello but generally nothing more .....

Some of our neighbours are in hospitality businesses in my village and we converse more there. In my experiences here and in Malta ..making the effort to make a friend of the local hosts you will have a friend for life.
