Hello everyone,

When you move in France, relationships with your neighbours can play a vital role in your well-being and integration. Share your experiences of the interactions and routines that punctuate your daily life in France:

Tell us about your relationships with your neighbours in France. Do you have any anecdotes to share, moments of solidarity or community initiatives that have touched you?

Are there any specific customs or cultural norms to be respected between neighbours? For example, is it normal to introduce yourself to your neighbours and invite them over when you move in France?

Do you have any tips or advice for fostering good neighbourly relations in France? How do you deal with the differences and diversities that can exist within the community?

Are there any initiatives to organise activities between neighbours, whether official events or spontaneous gatherings?

Are your neighbours expats or locals? How does this influence your experience in France?

By sharing your experiences, you enrich everyone's understanding of life in France and help many people to plan their life abroad.

Thank you all for your contributions.

good evening,

like with everything in life, things boil down to personal desires, expectations and goals !

Our main reason for coming to live in France was to get away from a world that was way to loud for us. (and deceiving to be honest)

Of course we are not asocial, on the contrary but we had our fill of a world where people think in ways of : how can I get the most (more than all the rest) without having to care about the consequences. Many of you must realize that we are living a time of fake news and behaviors.

So we made sure to find a tiny and rural village to live up to the french saying : " Pour être heureux, vivons caché" (in order to live happily, live hidden away)

We have great neighbours and are appreciated but also known as those Belgians who hardly ever come out of their den lol.

One thing we really believe in : if you wanna be part of a community ... adapt to their ways. And that's exactly what we have done : adapt to the language, the way of being and being (at least) available to the community when expected.

We respect the people and the people respect us in return.

We are the only belgians in the village as far as I can tell.

France is a beautiful country but than again ... any place on earth that feels like home is a great place to be :)
