I live in the south of France and am being bitten by invisible bugs, they're not mosquitoes.   The welts are large, itchy and red.   Does anyone know what they are and how to get rid of them from my home?

Thank you.

@mrice30 What does your doctor say? Diagnosis by group chat is not a good idea!

There's a bug called "aoutat" in French. Its a pesky, invisible bug. According to Google, the bites are grouped together, unlike mosquito bites.  These creatures love humidity.  The only way to avoid them is to cover up neck to toes.  But don't know if they live in the south of France.

The pest could be "aoutat", in French.  Invisible to the eye.  Bites tend to be grouped and after a certain time become welts.  According to Google, they like moisture and humidity. The larvae are often found in animals. The only protection is to cover up from neck to toes.
