Hello All

Has anyone had any experience applying for permesso di soggiorno through an Italian family member?

(Permesso di Soggiorno per Motivi Familiari / ‘coesione familiare’ )

and also for bonus - specifically at the Vicenza office?

We handed in our paperwork more than six months ago now and it's been radio silence. I thought maybe having an Italian spouse might mean it might move quicker than usual (whatever that means...)

I know the Italian system is notorious for being slow and painful but I can't imagine being in a limbo of sorts for too long. I need to travel back and forth, possible with work, and I have no idea what that entails if I don't have my permesso sorted.

Would anyone advise going back without an appointment.. or am I going to be turned back and told to wait...for who knows how long?

Thank you and have a nice weekend

-H
