No.

Usually 2 kilos Kassler (German smoked Pork) Very similar to smoked  Ham.

And yes. The sawdust is so cours, it could almost be classed as  Woodchips.

yea that ain't gonna work for smoking 12-15 hrs straight. I'm talking true Texas style smoking meat. Or Memphis style ribs. Saw dust ain't gonna cut it. Too much actual smoke, and no real heat generation. Toss chips over charcoal and get thick ass white smoke for 60 seconds. That's not smoking bbq.

But it works for what I want to do.

I have a very simple smoker, and only need to smoke 3-4 hours at 150 degrees C.
