Hi,

I had used myus.com for packages before the lockdown, but it has been bogged down by delays.

I ordered items off Amazon June 18, arrived at myus.com June 23, but not catalogued until July 1.  I elected to try DHL expedited shipping, supposed to take 5-6 days, so I paid for shipping July 6,  and it finally shipped July 13.  The package arrived in Cebu July 18, and it is still not here. Customs must be sitting on it.

Maybe it would have been faster just having a Balikbayan box sent.

I've run into that problem twice with customs, so I don't order products, but just have my mail forwarded when built up using 2 or 3 day shipping (FedEx) from the states.

Your shipper should have sent a declaration of the price (allowed 10K peso) without duty. You may owe value added tax. Also if it's vitamins you're allowed one month supply, I had to get a Doctors script for that  and much other stuff ( meds, fish oil, baby aspirins), then submit it to the Fil DEA through FedEX my shipper.

Prior to Covit, calling Customs  for me was futile because they never answered the phone. They will hold it for 30 days and then it dispose of it. Also DHL may charge you storage fee's, FedEx charges 500 pesos a day, I had to fight with them to drop the charges.

Keep contacting DHL till they get sick of you, especially find out what the holdup is and if necessary supply  scripts from a local Doctor for DHL to present to Fil DEA.

Hell with Balikbayan Boxes, they have never check the contents. If a drug sniffing dogs passes your box, you can smuggle anything in.

I have a couple of cell phone batteries, tee shirts, some cargo shorts, and some vitamins.

Not sure what the big deal is.

If the purchase was more than 10,000 pesos then you owe import duty. Also I had to get a Doctors script for my fish oil because the quantity was more than a normal supply (my order 1,000).

Again bug DHL on what is the holdup. I had to bug FedEX many times because the only message on tracking was "waiting clearance".

Got a message that my Customs Status was updated in Cebu, sitting there since July 18.  11 days to clear customs seems pretty long time to me.  Expediated Shipping, too.

I ordered an iMac Online from Apple and had it shipped here. It sat in customs for almost 2 weeks in Manila before actually being cleared and sent to Cebu. That was back in 2018.
In 2019 I had a box shipped FedEx from MyUS. It sat in Cebu for about 7 days before being delivered. Opened, retaped and 1 of my shampoos was missing. 🤷🏼‍♂️

The best shampoo on earth is a free one!

I got a message from DHL that after 11 days, my customs clearance has been updated.  Not sure what that means.

Probably taxes  to be levied before the release...

I guess the Customs guy already had an iMac so he settled for the shampoo.

The package came today.  No additional charges, unlike in the past.
