how does Amazon work in Las Terrenas? Where does it get shipped to? Does it take long? Any info would be great.

LT American

Go to CPS at plaza colonial. The entrance is in the car park by "the boats" Todd, the owner is an American. He gives you a Miami address that you have Amazon ship to. It is then shipped to las terrenas. It takes about 3 to 4 days to las terrenas from your Miami address. I believe the cost is 5 USD per pound+ ITBIS and any customs fees depending on the value of the shipment .

Don't forget to talk to Amazon's state tax department. Items shipped to a reshipper that sends them out-of-country don't need to pay state sales tax. Amazon will set up your account so you don't get charged that tax.

Depending on where in LT you are, you can look at Mail Boxes, Etc. by Sirena. We use both CPS and MBE, but MBE is much more convenient for us! We live in Coson, so when we head into town, we normally don't have to drive all the way down to the beach/cemetery. For pickups at CPS, we have to go all the way down. For MBE, we can turn back at the bridge and skip all that traffic. But, for heavier items, CPS is cheaper!

@ddmcghee

How do you know when it's arrived in Las Terrenas. Amazon tracking stops at Miami

with MBE they have own tracking; it will show when the package has been received in Miami, and when it is available for pickup in the MBE office. Works quite nice.

MBE is who I use as well.  Great online tracking program!
