Using my “valid” Latvian residency card to apply for residency permit in Portugal ?

On December 23rd 2023, I voluntarily requested the cancellation of my temporary Latvian residency permit due to high taxation on my employment income. Despite the cancellation, my residency card still shows a validity period until May 2024.

Currently, I am exploring the possibility of relocating within Europe and am particularly interested in Portugal. Given that my Latvian residency card is technically still valid, I am curious about the feasibility of using it to apply for residency in Portugal from the embassy here in Europe.
