Pre existing health issues that might not be covered by insurance

Hi

Thank you for accepting me as a new member.

My Filipino wife and I live in the UK are retirees and just finished our third visit to Thailand in January having been there for a month. We love Thailand and are considering moving there. We plan to spend three months from December and have already booked our flights out to Thailand.

Our main concern is my wife has a pre existing health issue that would not be covered by health insurance. The fear of a long hospital stay and the considerable cost is something we are worried about.

Thai insurances will not accept pre existing conditions.

International insurances might, but at a price.

Maybe fix the issue in UK, if possible, before you go?

But any medical costs deriving from your issue will not be insured ,by Thai companies, as well

Would blood pressure tablets be considered pre-existing as I would guess a high percentage of Male expats will be on them?

Thank you

Probably not Safe to assume that a lot of x pats Are on blood pressure medicine

It works a little bit different.

The medications will be paid.fot but ANY possible medical issue due to increased or high blood pressure will not be paid for by the insurance company

Does anybody have pre existing coronary heart disease (mild) and have gotton insurance?

@sowo

Just to be clear, you can get any insurance you want, but they will not cover any pre existing health issues or issues deriving from that pre existing health issues

Companies like April from France will cover anything, but at a premium which you can lower with paying the first 1,2,3.000 USD yourself

Contact AA insurance, google, they have all the companies in their portfolio
