Inquiry Regarding Relocating to Portugal with Schengen Work Visa

Hello Community Members,

As a non-EU national, I currently hold a type D Schengen work visa issued by my employer in Bulgaria. I am exploring the possibility of relocating to Portugal, given my ability to freely travel and stay for up to 180 days in any Schengen country.

I would greatly appreciate any insights or assistance on how this transition could be facilitated.

Thank you for your support.

@irankaDM,

Visas or residence permits issued by Bulgaria, Cyprus or Romania are not valid for travel to countries in the Schengen area.

@JohnnyPT

Visas issued by Bulgaria and Romania after March 31st 2024, are eligible for travel within the Schengen area.

Ok, 10 days out of date.

The Schengen visa for short stay allows you to stay in Portugal for a maximum period of 90 days.
