Air conditioning  and a decent solar system? Pay the electricity bills. Move to a cooler climate?

If you can't handle the heat get out of the fire,,,,, only going to get worse while people and governments drag their feet. Hotter here now than a few years ago, one person can't change where we are headed, takes a combined effort as well as commitment.

I think it was a misnomer of OP's heading of "Climate Change".

What did he really mean?

Him being Swedish, a real difference comparing Sweden vs. Philippines, but from his previous posts, he also had concerns about snakes, ants and vermin.

As far as man made climate change, humans have not been on this earth long enough to determine if he is responsible or even has had an impact.

I am not sure if the O/P was referring to the hotter climate in the Philippines compared to Sweden or actual climate change. For us living in the cooler parts of Europe where we experience cold, miserable winters, there is a certain appeal to escaping to hotter places. There certainly seems to be less snow now compared to 20 plus years ago in England but in my opinion the Winters are more miserable with a lot of dark, overcast and rainy days compared to the past. Of course one good thing about winter is the lack of insects for a few months a year.

I think the O/P's worries about coping with the heat, coupled with vermin will make for a difficult, almost impossible adjustment should he retire in the Philippines.

Side note - I was in the Philippines in Boracay a few weeks ago and a big flying beetle like thing flew into the room and landed on top of the air con unit. Me to my girlfriend (screams get rid of it, get rid of it haha).

Hi all I'm Mike, Yes there is climate change, as the world has always gone through over millions of years of changed.

The last big event was Krakatoa which changed the climate at that time and years and years later. just enjoy your life and have fun, climate change or not. yes it is hot in the Philippines, and humid if you are living by the beach.  but, there is always the shade of the trees (NOT COCONUT TREES lol), AND A GIN AND TONIC.

Bugs, yes there are bugs, yes there are snakes.  how many recorded snake bites are there in the Philippines. oww there are many, but they are farmers usually who work in long grass and water.  If you intend to plant and harvest rice. be scared of snakes, if you just want to enjoy life, just be vigilant around closed cool places.  ants, yes there are many kinds, just don't stand in a ants nest, we all have who live there, and yes some can bite, in fact you just laugh and say F that.  and your friends will laugh.

live your life and enjoy, and don't worry about what might happen.

a good G&T puts everything into perspective.

Welcome to the forum, agree a good G&T or a JD on the rocks does relax the mind. Perhaps the OP as Bob suggested created his/her post with the wrong header? Regardless and as you suggest this our world is a huge engine and cyclic changes were happening long before man came into the picture, perhaps we are adding fuel to the fire, who can tell. All the scientists blame man and excessive emissions from fossil fuels but if man were not here? The cycles continue, like you say while here enjoy your Gin and Tonic, share your love, invest in renewables and enjoy the retirement years.

Cheers, Steve.
