How can I rent a house before arriving in Norway ?

Hi all !

I'm Frederique and I'm planning to relocate to Norway in October 2024 with my husband and 1-year old child.

I'm currently looking for a house to rent on finn.no but apparently cannot do so without a BankID.

But as I understood, a BankID can only be obtained once you live in Norway, applied for and received your D-nummer, opened a bank account, ... This can take months before having one.

Does anyone know how I could rent a house before arriving in Norway woth my family and suitcases ?

Thanks a lot for your help !

Best regards,

Frederique

Are ou coming in to Norway as a skilled worker? Maybe under a consultancy or maybe a direct hire?

If yes, then your consultancy should be able to help in securing an apartment.

If not, then maybe you need to spend a couple of weeks/months in airbnb.. however that is much costlier..
