I am scheduled to return to the Philippines in November 2024. I am prescribed 12 medications and one medication is temperature controlled (refrigeration).

I want to ship 4 to 5 months of my prescriptions from the United States to the Philippines. FedEx quoted me over $1,775.00 USD earlier today. Can anyone recommend a more affordable method of shipping?

sorry, I can't recommend any different carrier, but one thing to think about is the temperature in which your meds will be shipped in. The temp in Asia now is very hot with the Philippines around high 90s to 100F. So in a shipping container I'm sure it will be more. Hi temps are not good for meds, so to me that is a huge consideration when shipping meds.

I am not sure how someone like FedEx would ship meds; maybe in some sort of "cool" container?

Something to think about. Good luck and pls lets us know what you come up with. I'm sure it will be very helpful to a lot of people on this forum.

Sorry I have no idea either but have you thought about simply buying your meds here? Bring a months supply and a reference letter from your doc in the US, visit a doc here to write up your new scripts Unless it's something special.

Good luck.

Cheers, Steve.

Exactly

I brought my prescription drugs in my carry on. Going to my pharmacy CVS I explained I was moving overseas and wanted to fill as much as my insurance would allow and beyond that I will pay full price the insurance  would not pay.

I wasn't aware of one month's supply rule, so I entered in the nothing to declare line. (Before the flight landed they passed out a customs/immigration questionnaire which I did not fill out).

I did have my Doctor provide a list of all my prescriptions as a backup in case customs/immigration problems should arise. All prescriptions were in the original bottles with my name.

Also I had all my medical records on a CD/ROM provided by my HMO. This was reviewed by a Philippine Doctor and he wrote me a prescription for my meds.

Also I should have added on to my previous post:

The Philippine pharmacy may not have your correct dose or your prescribed medication. It took a second trip to the Doctors office for a new replacement script.

I order my prescriptions online from SouthStar Drug. Free delivery over P1499 and same day at most times.

Bring it in your airplane luggage or carry on with dry ice. You just need to let the airline know in advance and ensure the container is ventilated

Almost all meds are available here, I suggest bring what you need on your carry on, and get a local perscriptions. You can have Watson or Southstar ship them COD right to your Address or to the Closest LBC for pickup.

If one of your meds isnt available or too expensive here, then maybe reconsider locating somewhere else...
