Just my take on how Colombians view the Olympics, this is my opine based on living in Medellin for 15 years and traveling the all of Colombia since 1990 so have had many Olympic games come and go and frankly this current one is no different than past Olympics which is to say that the general Colombians have little interest for watching the games, almost zero interest in talking about the games other than if you would bring it up in a conversation.

I am daily all around the Medellin valley and have many local Colombian friends and see nor heard of no such special events, organized game watching, no celebrations or the like.

Now the American Cup football (soccer) is a completely different story.

Just my take and me personally I have come to detest the Olympics for a variety of reasons so Colombians having/showing no interest suits me and my life here just fine.
