I need legal advice is been a while since I divorced my ex Moroccan husband and he paid all my rights in the court last year now the later I hired I. My representation is not Pati g me what is corresponded to me and he is not answering my calls or text messages I do t know what to do to get my money .

"If you are not currently in Morocco, it would be better for you to come here if you want to resolve your situation and get your money. According to Moroccan law, after your ex-husband deposits the money in court, the court transfers the funds to the Bar Association. Then, your lawyer receives a check with all the money or two checks: one for your share and another for the lawyer's fees, depending on your agreement with him. It might help to be present in Morocco to follow up on this directly , If the lawyer keeps your money for himself, you can take legal action against him and not only recover your funds but also potentially receive compensation for this misconduct.

I’m driving to Marrakesh on Monday so I don’t mind helping if you need it

@mleo75440  how she does that? by hiring another lawyer who may steal her money again? I have been in the same situation. Morroco is full of scammers.

mleo75440

@SalehUS she might not even need a lawyer if she's in morocco ,She can go directly to the court or the Bar association to check the status of her funds. If the lawyer has kept her money unfairly, she can take legal action against him to recover it, and even seek compensation , while it's true that scams happen, not all lawyers are the same, and being present in Morocco gives her more control over the situation

SalehUS

@mleo75440  I paid 7500 dirhams and he kept asking for more money and didn't do anything. a lot of corruption and scams in Morocco.

mleo75440

@SalehUS Yes, there is fraud in Morocco, just like in all countries, but at the same time, there are strict laws regarding this matter that only require proof. This woman clearly has evidence that she has not received anything from the lawyer she hired. Therefore, she will definitely get her entitlements, especially since Moroccan law is never lenient when the victim is a foreigner

@mleo75440

are you a lawyer? As I need one too who speaks English and reputable in the community and not someone who’s just after money.

mleo75440

@muzzichuzzi No, I am not a lawyer, but I studied law. however, my sister's husband is a lawyer, and if you need any assistance in marrakech city feel free to ask

SalehUS

@mleo75440  just like all other countries? can you name a few ?

SalehUS

@muzzichuzzi Yes, especially once they know you are from west. I found one through a friend and he was asking for 50, 000 dirhams for the divorce paper and was asking to see my paycheck. they are only after money.

@SalehUS The biggest example currently is your country, America, and the famous case of "Sean John Combs" (Diddy), who raped dozens of Hollywood stars, inclUding children, men, and women, and has been involved in murders for 30 years. This is the height of corruption
