Nationality and address on residence card

Post new topic

frescura

Greetings everyone, would like to ask a question that applies to my friend but I believe everyone on this forum will benefit from it if I bring it up.

Long story short, My friend has completed 5 years in Portugal ( he came on a D7 originally) and has recently gotten his third temporary residence card.

He wishes to apply for Portuguese citizenship  and almost has his documents in order except for one thing.

Ever since he got his 3 rd temporary residency card, he has changed his address from the one stated on the back of his card to a new one. He is about to fill out modelo 6 as available on IRN website. The form asks for: residencia atual.

While he is more than happy to mention his new address, would he be  ineligible to apply for citizenship unless he has his address on the back of his residence card changed. Changing the address is not big deal as he already has a registered lease but getting an appointment with AIMA is close to winning a lottery. Anyone else been in his shoes?

Thank you.
