Marriage Process - UK/Moroccan

Post new topic

Good Evening,

is anyone able to explain the marriage process for UK and Moroccan partners?

i’m already married, but I think the process has changed on the UK side and I am needing to assist my friend.

I made a consulate appointment in Morocco and got my affidavit and my passport certified and then got them translated in Morocco.

I’m now under the understanding that these bits need doing in the UK.

Affidavit/CNI - local registry office - does this need a apostle?

where do you now get the passport certified? Do you need a notary? Does this then need apostle?

and then both all translating into Arabic?

That is completely wrong I needed paperwork from UK register office and it needed Apostilled

I also needed a police check that was very very long morning from one person to another and long waits,

For UK people coming to Morocco to get married make sure you have many copies of your paperwork if possible get it done in Arabic, as it will cost at least 1600mad, get a good Adoul in Morocco a further 1500/1600mad.

I was very lucky but still took 10 near full days
