Hi,

when settling in a new country, working parents are mostly concerned about finding child care services for their children.

What can you share with us about the child care system in Kuala Lumpur ?

How much is daycare in Kuala Lumpur?

Is the staff qualified at these daycare centers?

What are the usual opening hours?

Do they provide other services at the daycare center?

Any daycare center in Kuala Lumpur you would like to recommend to other expats? What makes them special?

Hi!

I haven't lived in Malaysia, but I have spent over a year in Indonesia and I realize that the cultures for both the countries are quite similar in many ways.

The concept of day care centers is not very common in Malaysia, probably because it is not difficult for people to get hired help or nannies that look after children.

If you run a Google Search, you will observe that a few pre-schools offer day-care services, where parents can leave their children for a few extra hours, while they are at work.

We are going to be moving back to KL early next year and would be interested in crèche type places in the KLCC area, we have lived in KL a couple of times in the past but now we have a small child and while I know the norm is to have a full time maid it is not really our thing. All we really need is a couple of hours child care most mornings, I had a look online and do not see any listing for crèche type set ups. Any ideas?

Indeed i have 1 yr old kid and we both are working. Do day care centres accept babies at such tender age?
