Dear All,
I have moved from my India almost 6 months back with a 22 months baby.
I am looking for a recommendation on a good  Pediatric doctor and skin specialist for my child.
Ideally near KL Sentral , Bangsar but if the doctor is highly recommendation willing to travel a little more to get proper advise.

The issue is my child is been complaining about itching and redness of skin, occasional boils on the hands. While I got some over the counter skin \rash medicines it didn't help. I followed up with a local doctor and she saw the medicine I had purchased and continue to apply the same.  It didnt subside the issue.  I had some broad spectrum bacterial and fungal cream I applied that and it seemed to work for some day but the symptoms are now recurring.

The reason I am asking for recommendations (and just not walk into a nearby clinic in my area) is because in the past 6 months i have shown to couple of doctors here and I am not satisfied with the diagnosis or medical treatment. Moreover I have been charged from RM 50 to RM 100 (with medicines) just for normal cold/cough fever kind of things to RM 500 for vaccinations.

I am not sure if I have been charged higher than normal for being an expat or it is normal rates but still the fees aside I am not satisfied with the results.

Also i find the medical practice here is quite different compared to India. Doctors would not give anything in writing the diagnosis  \observation and just keep it with them for their records.
The medicines are also bundled in the fees and they would put a label on top of the medicines with the dosage and timing which also hides the name\manufacture of the medicines.

Experience expats kindly guide me on how to avail proper medical support at reasonable fees for my baby. Thanks in Advance.

The charges for consultation and prescription are typical - you have not been overcharged.

Unfortunately there is no Money Back Guarantee when dealing with health.

I always use everything anti-bacterial in Malaysia - hand soap, clothes washing powder, floor cleaners etc. Otherwise I use Dettol or diluted bleach.

Look for Dr. Chu. Iinm, he was the skin doctor to the Genting family too. He's very busy so I would suggest that you call up his practice for an appointment. Hope all is well with your child.
