Hi,

when settling in a new country, working parents are mostly concerned about finding child care services for their children.

What can you share with us about the child care system in Laos ?

How much is daycare in Laos?

Is the staff qualified at these daycare centers?

What are the usual opening hours?

Do they provide other services at the daycare center?

Any daycare center in Laos you would like to recommend to other expats? What makes them special?

Thank you for participating! :)

It all depends on how long you are going to stay in Laos. Most people have a cleaner or cook who doubles up as babysitter.

If you will be there long term best to look at putting child in a private school. We did same with our daughter. She started at her school when she was 3. That way she got to interact with kids her own age. She now goes full time to that same school and will continue there until she is 18.

Lost in Laos

I agree with stumpy. I also know several very reputable sitters and housekeepers. One in fact is my sister in law. She was the housekeeper/sitter for a European family for many years. Dependable and honest. She can understand English well and can take care of many domestic chores needed including shopping. I find most Lao fit that description for the most part.
