What compelled you to become a traveler?

Hi folks. What compelled you to become a traveler? I am very curious to hear from others no matter how brief your response might be....just think it might be an interesting read.
My compelling catalyst would no doubt be that I was born and raised as an Air Force Brat. Every 3 years or so, Dad would get his orders and we all packed up and went with him. Ever since, I've had "itchy feet" ....the wanderlust....a love for travel and a genuine desire to see and experience new places. Thank you for your feedback and Happy Trails.

As a teenager I got to go to a few countries in Europe.  Then the Air Force gave me a free trip to Viet Nam and I also got to see Australia and Japan.  I met someone from Viet Nam online and have been back 6 times.  I also like the experiences of new people, countries and customs.

Hello fellas,

For me, it all started with my family's plight from Vietnam, when I was a child.  We bounced around several Southeast Asian countries (Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia) before ended up in the US.

Shortly after that, upon my graduation from high school, I went and did a 5-years tour of duty with the US Navy.  I got to circle the globe 3 times, saw some pretty amazing places and met some of the most enchanting people.

Eversince then, I get bored easily, from seeing the same place and the exact people times and times again.  If I hadn't come to Vietnam this time, I would have bought myself an RV and a boat, instead of a house, and spend all of my free times touring the American lands and seas.
