Moving to Calgary!

Hi all,

my partner had just been offered a job in Calgary, we are planning on moving in 3 months time. Can anyone sugest any nice places within an hour of Calgary as dont want to live in the city. We have a 5 year old son and a dog too.
Also for those who had to move from the UK can you help me to make decission with regards to moving, did you bring all your furniture and belongings with you, sold it or put it in the storage? Its becoming a bit overwhelming. Thank you so much x

Hello.
I've heard quite a few people here likes to live in Airdrie, a town about 30 minutes drive from Calgary. A car is almost mandatory for the distances an specially if you want to live outside the city and consider always snow tires or all season tires since driving in winter in Canada is quite an experience.
Hope your trip to Canada goes smoothly.

Thank you Juan, I will look into some rental properties in that area. I must say I am not looking forward to driving in the snow as here in the UK we do not get much practice
