Confusion over Job seekers Visa- 3 Months or 6 Months ?

Hi All,

my application for Skilled Job Seekers visa for Norway was recently accepted. I am due to come to Norway end of Feb to get the formalities done at the local police station.

When i started the process, i was told / i heard / i read that the norway job seekers visa is for 6 months.

Now when i submitted my passport to the embassy for D type visa ( one week visa  to process the formalities at the police station ), the embassy person told me, i will have to register at the police station in those 7 days and then they will give me a 3 MONTHS temporary resident permit !!!!!

so is it really 3 months ? or is it a 6 months visa / permit ?

could someone please clarify this for me.

thanking you guys in advance

warm regards

Best
Parag

Its a 6 month visa according to immigration consultants i have talked to.

Pawan K Dilawari

UDI also mentioned in there website that they offer 6 months temp PR.

Guys...
Do I need to Norwegian to be offered a job in IT?

This is a very critical situation. They gave u less than what they promised. Always have an alternate plan so you don't have to regret.

yes i was asked to show funds in my bank account and since i had 2 accounts one is a fixed deposit and i was said it doesnt matter if its savings account or fixed deposit ! however later when i got the approval the embassy said i will be given 3 months visa, because i have shown fixed deposit account which means that there is restricted access to the account and fees if i have to withdraw money form it.
however that is not true, there is no restricted access to the account and the fee is nominal or even doesnt exist and if it does its deducted from the interest and not from the principle.

so i am appealing against the decision, primarily because i was kept in dark on this clause secondly because the reason for which they denied me 6 months visa is wrong !

had i been told that fixed deposits are not allowed , then i wold have gladly shown them all the funds in savings account without any problem ........

@parag,you have to refer only UDI for any kind of clarification or else call Norway embassy in New Delhi. The consulate of norway in Mumbai are not updated and generally convey inappropiate information.i am one of a victim.so make sure you check and double check with UDI,

Hi All,

I am applying for Norway Job seeker visa.
Can anyone tell me that when the duration of the visa (6 months) is going to start? Whether it will start from the day i have been granted visa by the embassy or from the day i will reach norway?

Please reply.. thanks in advance..

GB_ROCK

Hi Nitin,

it's after you arrive here in Norway and submit your passport to the Politi(immigration). make sure you have your savings in your personal savings a/c only. No joint account is acceptable to UDI.

Nitin_sharma

Thanks alot for ur reply..
Initialy for how long period will i get VISA from the embassy?

GB_ROCK

Hi Nitin, It will be of 7 days from Delhi Embassy, and they will give a period of about 2 or more months to reach Norway, it's more like a deadline so you have to arrive in norway before it expires, and as soon as you arrive in here and then between 7 working days you have to submit your passport to Politi. I hope that will clear your doubts, bye

Nitin_sharma

Thanks GB_Rock.. :)

GB_ROCK

No probs Nitin_Sharma :-)

Hi, i am from India and I have recently been to a consultant to enquire about Norway Jobseeker visa. They did an evaluation of my CV and assured me that I am eligible to apply for the visa. But the only problem stands before me is the 10 lakh rupees fund. Now in that matter the consultants told me that I have to not only show the funds in my account under my name BUT I have to also carry the money with me to Norway. Now that did not sound right to me.
Is it true that you have to carry that amount of money with you when you enter Norway?

Mohammed Akber Ali Khan

medura76

hai
r u in norway..

how many months u got jobseekervisa..tellme
friend
thanks.

GB_ROCK

Nitin you don't need apostille done for your work experience.. it is not a requirement at all. i think your docs are all ok..

But on a serious note please think twice before coming to here, as they require people who can speak and write Norwegain and have some work experience on Norwegian soil.. So make sure about that..

Good Luck anyway....

GB_ROCK

Chirag  as far as i am concerned there is no such rule for jobseekers it only applies to Students who come here studies ..

But this place is not good for job seeking visa, language is the biggest barrier here, there are english speaking jobs, but they also require some one who have local experience. so i will strongly urge you to opt for some other place or come here on student visa.

Good Luck..

GB_ROCK

Ali dude please do not consider this place. after noticing your  qualification and work experience i must say that if you really wana come here then come on student visa.some of the courses are free and no UNI Fee. so apply for masters and then come here, this is one of the best option for you.

Rest it's upto you to decide.  For jobseeker visa i would definitely say NO. telling you from my and many others experience. Most of the people are returning back.

Good luck !!!

pcprajapati

Can u send ,me detail how to apply Norway job seeker Visa Because UDI confused me

ECS

UDI has repealed the jobseeker visa that this thread is about. It is no longer possible to get this type of permit as of January 15th 2013:
http://www.udi.no/Norwegian-Directorate … obseekers/

there is still a jobseeker visa for newly qualified graduates and researchers, but you must meet the criteria listed here:

http://www.udi.no/Norwegian-Directorate … searchers/

sisilakmal

Both we need wokr as skill catogory in Norway.

David

Hi sisilakmal,

Welcome to expat-blog!

Please can you make an introduction of yourself. And what kind of jobs/and fields are you looking for and other details, might be helpful.

Thank you,

David.

ECS

I really think this thread should be closed, as the visa type it is about no longer exists. It's just attracting a lot of very random comments/job requests that aren't relevant to the topic at all.

pcprajapati

I agree ECS.

Hello,

I am not sure if you have been misguided...
you cannot get work permit without a norwegian company offering you a job .
For 1 year course you are planning to do , you cannot work full time .

Please read the work permit rules on UDI before getting into such situations ...
