Find a job FIRST - then move to Norway

Hi to everyone. I thought it was very important to let everyone know that it is very, very difficult to find work in Norway now. Many people from countries with difficult economic situations (like Greece and Spain) have moved here to look for work but are not finding jobs and living on the streets. I read in the Bergen newspaper last week that over 300 Spaniards have registered at the charity house in Bergen -- which means that they are too poor to find a house to live in because they have not found work, and they have no money for food.

I feel very sad about this because in the newspaper was a picture of a family with two small children from Spain who had sold everything before they came here. Now they cannot go back, even though they cannot find work, they cannot buy food, and they are living on the streets.

Norway is VERY expensive and it is not wise to move here unless you have found a job first.

The government says that there is a surplus of jobs in Norway, but these jobs in general are NOT going to foreigners, they go to Norwegians or to people who are fluent in Norwegian.

Unless you already have a job offer, or you can come to Norway with a lot of money (several thousand Euro), it is it not wise to move here.

If you still wish to consider it, come first for a few weeks and see how difficult it is for you to find a job, and how expensive it is to live in Norway.

There have been many articles like this recently. This article says:

"We were told that Norway had plenty of jobs and good upbringing of children. The fact that people with my work experience and education will work in the day, even if they do not speak Norwegian, says Dan.

"I thought that was my big chance. But it was all propaganda. We have been fooled, says Dan Giuglea."

Norway IS a good place for children IF you have a job and money.
