Canadian passport backlog

Post new topic

Hi!

Does anyone know what the current backlog is for passport applications? My boyfriend, who is a Canadian citizen,
submitted his forms 6 months ago... but is still stuck over there while I'm in Europe. Unfortunately he let his pass expire and had to apply for a brand new one.

Thanks!

Hi There,
that's an unusual delay! i applied for mine for the first time and got in the mail in 25 days, i paid $87. passport Canada also offers express service if you can justify the rush but you have to pay an extra fee of $70 on top of the regular $87 and get it in 2-3 business days. did your bf call them to inquire? i would say there is something wrong with his application because 6 months is way too long for a routine passport application.
I hope this helps.

Yup, he called a couple of times. All they say is that "it is being processed". Sucks big time.... almost Valentine's Day and here we are stuck on either side of the pool :-(

Still waiting waiting waiting.... :(
