I am interested in buying a motorcycle whilst in Saudi Arabia. The problem is that my license has expired since the time I was in Thailand 3 years ago.

How do I get a license.

Does anyone know if motorcycles are widespread to buy in KSA?

RedGoblin

the best way to get a two wheeler licence here is to go to the vehicle showroom of the machine you are planning to get. they will be most helpful in doing all the paperwork and stuff..

Cheers! and be safe..

Thanks for the response. I guess that would make sense. I hope they have some decent show rooms in Tabuk, where I am going...

hmmm....great advice. Motorbikes, which are not very popular rides in KSA, there cannot be any places better than the showrooms to enquire about the license matters....+1

Tabuk?
oh boy.....
I am not sure if there is a dealer out there. it is kinda far out and all. your best bet would be get the vehicle from riyadh or better from Jeddah and have it transported to Tabuk. But I do have to say one thing, that place is an amazing place to ride. curvy roads, decent climates quite a bit of the time, and some scenic places.

OneManArmy

Yeah, thats why  I was thinking of getting a bike. The problem would be that I would have to do the test before I can buy a bike, right? Or no?

TheLegendLeads

@OneManArmy,
As bikes are not very popular here in KSA. A small number of people only know about the licensing procedures. I strongly doubt that tests are not conducted for licenses for motorbikes.

OneManArmy

I didn't mean that I won't have to do a test. I meant that would it be possible to buy a bike (and practice in the compound) before I took my test.

TheLegendLeads

Probably yes.
But the showroom can confirm if they can sell without your license.

hello people,
i am planning to buy a bike. I rode bikes back in India but nothing above 200 cc. I am sure i can adjust to the higher power bikes in couple of months. Am leaning towards CBR 600. I also likes FZ1 and FZ8 because of its riding position.

Dose any1 of you ride in Riyadh

Plz help

Not yet in Saudi.  I will be there in November.  I also intend to get a bike.  The CBR600F is an excellent choice.  I have owned two in the past.  It's a good bike if you are moving up from a less powerful machine.  The Yamaha's are not so user-friendly. The FZ6 needs to be revved a lot before you get much power out of it. The CBR has much more even power delivery.  The riding position is also good for longer journeys.

I look forward to that.  I will be in Riyadh too.  I've been looking on the for places to buy bikes in Saudi but haven't seen much yet.  I'm used to the UK where every town has two or three motorcycle dealers.  KSA is not the same. Bahrain seems to have more motorcycles.
