Quick food question

Does Filipino food use a lot of MSG?  Just had some garlic fried rice for bfast at the cantina and have been thirsty every since. I cant handle too much MSG.

I always ask for no MSG, but not sure if my message gets across. In Singapore, they call it Ajimoto.  Whats MSG called in Manila?

Thanks,
Don

Hi Don,

Mostly, Filipinos use MSG in our food but in our household, we are no longer using it...for i dont know the reason, hehehe :D , the manufacturer of MSG is Ajinomoto or "vetsin" in tagalog :)

some canteens are not using msg anymore but they replaced it with other seasonings.

Thanks,
trixie:)

Many Filipino foods have MSG. The Ajinomoto type and different types seasonings with MSG are very common.

My body react not so well with MSG too, I get sleepy and drowsy.  If it's fried rice, most likely it has some seasoning (powder or granule) that contains MSG.
