Traveling from France

Hello,

I have a quick question.

I'm American and I live in France with my husband who is a French citizen.

This summer we plan on visiting either Tunisia or Turkey.

I have my US passport and my carte de sejour.

I was wondering whether I would have any trouble entering or leaving Tunisia/Turkey?

My previous vacations have all been within the EU zone.

Has anyone with a US passport ever traveled from France into Tunisia or Turkey?

Thanks

There currently is a DOS travel alert for US citizens in Tunisia. Since you're traveling with your french husband, it might not be an issue, though. I would advice against displaying your US passport as much as possible over there. For entry, your US passport is enough. You do not need a visa if you don't plan to stay more than 4 months.

For Turkey, it's a bit different. In addition of your US passport, you'll need a visa that you can purchase at the port of entry in Turkey. This 90 days sticker visa cost $20. You should contact the Turkey's Embassy in France and see if you can pruchase this visa in advance, just in case.
