Driving license in Malta

Post new topic

Armand

Hi all,

Can a foreigner take the driving test in Malta?

What are the formalities to get a driver’s licence in Malta?

Do you need special or extra documents being an expatriate?

How much does it cost?

Thank you for participating ;).

Hi Armand,

I am a foreigner and I got my driving license in Malta, it took me 9 months! It was my teacher who had to apply for the test for me so he choose when I was ready.

It costs (where I went) 24 EUR for 2 hours and then they come and pick you up from your house and then you drive the student who drove before you home. That is how it works here. So you finish your lesson at the next students house who will then drive you home.

You will need a Maltese Id card, but that is easy to get and an eye test that you can do at any doctor.

If you contact a driving school they will tell you all the papers you need to fill out. The theory test is not hard, there is a cd with almost the same questions as in the exam that you can practice with.

Good luck :)

Thanks for your contribution Anna0001!;)

How many lessons do you need before you can do the final test?
How much does the theory test cost to do?
In what language is the theory test? (English?)
How much in a total shall i expect to pay for a license?

And last.. Is it easier to take a drivers license on Malta than in other countries?

Thanks!
