Hi all,

Can a foreigner take the driving test in Papua New Guinea?

What are the formalities to get a driver’s licence in Papua New Guinea?

Do you need special or extra documents being an expatriate?

How much does it cost?

Thank you for participating ;).

I just showed up with my current Canada driver's license, paid the fee, and was issued with a licence on the spot.  I think I also brought my passport with me, to show the date of my visa, and that's what they dated the licence to.  I didn't have to take a test of any sort, and they took a photo in the office (no need to bring one).

I should add that I was on a residence visa though, not a tourist, and that might make a difference.

travelorphan, I will arrive from Australia on an Australian work visa but my license is Philippine, do you think that will matter?
