how much is fixed and how much is variable ?

i work as MANAGER - HR for a retail company .
having worked in dubai . let me break it to you in simple words , very simple words

see if ur getting 10k i.e. 10000 per month then its good take the offer
but remember ask the company if they will pay the following

rent and transport no 1 and 2 most expensive in dubai is rent and transport unless u r staying at a relatives place .(30 to 60 % of the salary goes here)
light bill
phone bill
water , cable , gas(cooking gas)
maid cost (most guys do it on their own ,cooking , washing clothes , utensils ,floor mopping) .
for senior level guys, maids servies are provided which are around 30000 p.a. around 2500 per month
depends
some areas you can get for 1500 to 1800 per month also .

dont hire from agency . they have hidden costs also .
includes the salary, visa ,medical costs, food, toiletries and airfare to home country,

better option is do it on your own(will save money)
got me a sense of realization .

So , if the paying all that . then its great . take the offer .
you can save around , depending on ur lifestyle;) 7 to 9 k .

P.S. try to get Accommodation near to the workplace .

If your accommodation/transport is physically provided i.e. there is an apartment given to you paid for by the American Hospital then AED 13k is sufficient per month.

However, if they are providing you with an allowance for these on top of your monthly salary then depending on what your allowance is will depend on whether your monthly salary is enough.

Accommodation/transport will cost you anywhere between 6-10k AED per month excluding utility bills etc. associated with these which can range from 2-4k AED per month so as you can see it really depends on your total package.

Of course 13000 is enough.  People live within their means and  lifestyle preferences.

However, 13000 is fine for someone who pushes a trolley around all day but its a bit low for a neurosurgeon.
