Waterfalls near Hanoi

Hi friends,

I am bored of the weekends in Hanoi. I am looking for some waterfalls or river like locations with sceneries within 100 kms from hanoi to visit during the weekends. Please give me some suggestions. I am told like there is one called "Cong Troi" waterfalls. Any ideas to reach there or any other places to visit?

Your suggestions on this please... Thanks

"Ban Gioc" one of the most beautiful waterfall of Viet Nam, but it's very far from Ha noi, near China boundary.

If you like to go near around Ha noi, you should go to "Khoang Xanh" fall, small but beauty, about 60km far from Ha noi, foods is cheap in Khoang Xanh. You need buy a 5USD ticket to come in. I just came there. "Cong troi" fall at Sapa, 300km more from Ha noi.

Hi Prabu,

There are some famous waterfalls in the North-West moutainous area of Vietnam. But I'm afraid that it's more than 100km from Hanoi (about 200-300km).

However, 2 days is enough to visit. Some suggesstions for you:
1. Ban Gioc Waterfall (Cao Bang province)
2. Go to Sapa (Lao Cai province), so you can visit: Silver, Cat Cat, Ban Khoang, Tac Tinh, ... Waterfall
