hi guys.. me and my friends have a plan to go to da lat in september 2012..i know it's rainy season ..i hope i don't have to experience heavy rains during my visit there

which is better, i take a bus or a plane to go to  da lat?
i heard VA often cancelled their flight during rainy season.

is it safe to take a bus during rainy season?

does any one know Phuong Trang bus departure schedule at night?

thank you guys,

Be smart, use Mai Linh Express, safest of the bus lines on the road.

Da Lat is only 6 hours north of Ho Chi Minh City and if you travel overnight you'll end up arriving early in the morning and no where to go as check-ins generally start around 12.00H noon.

If you fly ONLY buy tickets from the airline as there are no commissions paid so if you use an agent they simply add their fees.

There are no travel agents as you know them in VN. They simply get your CC info, telephone your flight request (just as you can) then an e-ticket is sent and before it is handed to you a little work in the word-processor makes it look like it is the airline rate when it actually includes their high rates.

Besides, you wouldn't want to hand your CC info to just anyone.

The DA LAT AIRPORT is about an hour out of town and the taxi will stiff you $20+ (a monopoly).

One of the best hotels in Da Lat is:

Dreams Hotel
151 & 164 B Phan Dinh Phung
Da Lat, Lam Dong
Tel: 063-833-748
E-m: dreams@hcm.vnn.vn

Book as soon as you know when you are arriving - they are two very popular hotels.

The weather in Da Lat in September few changes in the weather, except the return of fog that covers the area. In addition to the high humidity, the fog is much dense and causes the place looks a little mysterious. It quickly disappears when the sun comes out.

Average temp: 18.4oC
Average high temp: 26.4oC
Average low temp: 12/3oC
Relative humidity: 90%

Don't forget to visit Madame Hga's crazy hotel!

Hey Julie,

U guys should take a bus to dalat for convenient and cost saving. It takes 30 mins (30-40kms) from Lien Khuong airport to Dalat city by taxi when u arrive by plane.

U can take Phuong Trang / Thanh Buoi / Mai Linh, they all have same same prices.... But Phuong Trang bus station is located in Pham Ngu Lao ward --> easy to go there.

The bus depart every hour every day (ex: 8pm, 9pm, 10pm...) and it takes about 5-6 hours to go to dalat at night time (more longer at day time due to traffic and speed limitation)

As my experience, if u're kinda easy sleeping, u can depart at 10-11pm, then u can sleep on the bus, then when u wake up, u already see dalat city at 5-6am ... if not, u can depart at 7-8pm, then u will reach dalat at midnite (2-3am), then there will have transit bus bring u to ur hotel, then u can sleep for a while till the dawn coming :)

Good luck!

Chum
