ESL in Vietnam

Hi I am considering coming to Vietnam to teach english as a foreign language sometime in the future. I have a degree but as of yet have no TEFL qualification. I was just wondering if anyone has any advice regarding whether it would be best to gain the qualification once in Vietnam or in the UK prior to leaving. Is it best to try and find a job before heading to Vietnam or look around in person once I am there? I was also wondering if anyone has any information regarding the teaching hours, expected salary for someone without experience and any other useful tips. I have visited Vietnam a number of times but have never stayed for longer than a month so I am unfamiliar with living costs. Could anyone provide any information regarding apartment rental/utility prices in HCMC and Hanoi for a basic studio apartment in a relatively central location? Any other information, even about teaching english in other areas of Vietnam would be much appreciated! I know I have asked a lot of questions but even if you can help at all please do so!

Daniel, this question has been asked many time...

But degree +cert = good school (or least it should)
$$ anything from 10-25 ph depending on school and your negotation skills. like any other job
Do the course here if you can, that way you will meet some local teachers and start building connections here which is also helpful to start with.
Cost of living... several recent threads on this just below your question, but rent anything from $250 pm upwards depending on where you want to live and if you want to share or not.
Best bet stay in a hotel for a month or two till you start finding your feet and find work that way you can find accommodation to suit you better.
No point in applying for jobs prior to coming here as without experience and certification your unlikely to get a response. Once here if you want it, you will find work both in HCMC and Hanoi.
