Wedding in Tripoli-Women special

Post new topic

I had the chance to be invited to a wedding party.Out of curiosity I accepted the invite and boy, i'm glad i did.It was amazing, such a display of rich gowns, jewelry, hair-dos and make-up! I must say that i was surprised to see how confident those women were, so self-aware of their own beauty and presence, in spite of their age, looks or weight. So, ladies, if you have the chance to attend a wedding, go for it, choose the most extravagant dress you'd ever dare to wear ( the shops in Ben Ashour or Gargaresh sell amazing dresses),set an appointment with a good make -up artist and hair dresser and there you go, the night is yours. Ah, don't forget that before going out, you should cover yourself with an abayah (it's not a black sack, you can find silk ones with nice embroideries for special occasions).

That's awesome!  Thanks for sharing with us.

Any tips on what an appropriate gift would be or details about some customs that we should know before we attend an event such as this?

Hello again,

the best gift you might give to the new bride is a piece of jewlery or a nice watch. If you do know the family of the bride/groom, something useful such as a nice set of plates or some decor objects will be appreciated.

and make sure you practice your dance moves! even the grandmamas at these wedding parties can shake their booty. I know I was amazed as I was stiff as a stick!
