90% of the businesses there are Sino-Khmer. Cambodia is heavily influenced by the Chinese.

But isn't the true old chinatown in Phnom Penh , something like the chinatown in san francisco, is on 136th street?

I know what you're asking and I'm not sure about the St.  Just pointing out that there is an abundance of Khmer-Chinese people there.

I was too pondering where is the chinatown in phnom penh. It seems that there isnt a concentrated area of chinese operated business but spread out all over.

I did a google search and I found a post that says  136 street. Chinese may have businesses all over PP, but I dont think there are good chinese restaurants in every corner like 7 11' s in California

DIM SUM....

find the dim sum, you'll find china town :)

online i see some tourist traps, but nothing real.  anything real would not have the same prices as the US!!!

Phnom Penh's Chinatown is located at Street 136. Chinese settlers came here in the 1400s. A lot of mainland Chinese immigrated to Cambodia in the past decades and it it is said that some Cambodian cities started as Chinese settlements.Street 136 in Phnom Penh has a very own little Chinatown where you can find a lots of Chinese restaurants and Chinese delicious foods. Peking Canteen, is one of a few Chinese restaurants offering Chinese food to those who are watching on the budget. It is also nicely positioned to watch the happenings of the Central Market (Phsar Thmei). The Street 136 is next to Central Market (Phsar Thmei).
