Teach in Vietnam? You wont get much at all..

Seems to me most teachers I know make around 17$ per hour and work anywhere from 25-40 hours per week.

Part time pay will be influenced by whether you are asked for a Work Permit. No Work Permit request usually means they aren't paying anything to the government.

If they deduct taxes, better make sure they have filled in all the paperwork and give you a pay statement showing deductions.

Some outfits deduct tax and just pocket the money.

Inquire of other teachers at the school.

Hi Jaitch, how do you say "pay statement showing deductions" in vietnamese?

Just in case I need to ask that in the future...

You don't need to ask, or know.

Just check the numbers, like a grocery bill, you can tell if the gross total (before deductions) is less than the net (after deductions) and the last line on a pay slip / statement.

VN employee accounting I use a moonlighting tax department guy for my people's pay. As a business owner my tax is annual.
