I've been here two years and have met nobody else from the USA or Europe. Run into a few people who either turn out to be just visiting or are clearly uninterested in talking.

My Vietnamese is good enough to talk with people I've gotten to know a little but past gossip and whether or not I've eaten rice yet there really isn't a lot to talk about.

I live in the Nam Long area in the southern part of the city, I work remotely writing iPhone, iPad, and Mac software for several different companies all over the world, I'm interested in physics, politics, music, books. I'm bored. I need to make some friends.

There are some instructors at the university and several others to my knowledge.
