Request for information regarding relocation/ immigration to Norway from SA.

My name is Melanie Grobler, birth date  1965. I am engaged to be married on the 5th of May 2013, to Ola R***, Norwegian citizen, 48 years of age. I am hoping anyone else for that matter, has some advice for me?

Our relationship of 5 years is now finally heading for finalisation and it should be a happy occasion as we will finally get to live together. 13000 km apart has been very challenging. We need information on how to proceed to be able to stay with my brand new husband in Norway after the wedding. The wedding will take place in Norway. I would like to start the process and ensure that all ducks are in a row, to make it a simple as possible for all parties concerned. He has the income that exceeds the minimum requirement in that regard.

When talking to the Embassy this past week, the information provided was that I have to get married, then come back to SA to start the application process for a family reunion. On my question whether I can stay in Norway after the wedding, the answer was "no".  I have to come back to SA to hand in all the documentation, and this process takes no less than 6 months. This has to do with the fact that I can only get a visa for 90 days.  I understand that there are all sorts of valid reasons why this is the case. My question now though is, surely there must be a way that I can stay there? for e.g,
1. what if I can find employment in Trondheim immediately? Can I not apply for a working visa while the emmigration process is being processed?
2. Can I not enroll for a course at the university and be a student whilst this process is on the go? Therefore then apply for a study visa.
3. Are there any alternatives other than coming back to SA after the 5th of May? Surely there has to be a way?

Any workable information in this regardin this regard will be highly appreciated!
