Hi All,

Ive been offered a place teaching in Shaoxing, Zhejiang, China.

This is great, but I've been told the teachers are on a monthly salary of 2,500CNY. Looking online it looks like all other tefl teaching jobs are starting lowest at 8000CNY.

I'm very new to this, so just wanting to get an idea of whether this is right? I read that a dress would cost 400..if so I'll be skint!!?

Would the cost of living all work out?

Any advise would be great!?

Are those teachers the local teachers or foreign teachers?

There should be no place in China where the salary for a foreigner is 2,500rmb. Unless its part time, and they are not sponsoring you. Be sure to ask about the details of your salary with the school before signing anything, and before moving there and settling in.
