Moving to Taiwan at the beginning of April.

Hi there, i am currently looking to move to Taiwan for a while as i have heard only good things about what sounds like an amazing country.

If anyone could give me a bit of advice that would be great!

I'm hoping to pick up a teaching job and was wondering if it is something i should try to arrange before i arrive or if its better to do it on the ground?

Also where would you recommend as a good city to look for work? I've heard Taipei is great but i haven't heard a great deal about any other cities? Does anyone have anything to say about Taichung?

And one last thing that would be helpful for me would be a rough guide to living costs as its pretty difficult to gauge salaries without!

Any other advice either general or specific would also be appreciated!

Thanks very much in advance

Hi there, I just posted a reply to -"Moving to Hsinchu". You might look at it as reference. I would say the living cost in Taipei and Hsinchu is relatively high compared to other cities in Taiwan. Definitely, Taipei is a fasinating city. But there are many native English speakers there who want to teach English so I guess it may take some time to look for a good job(with a decent pay).
