My wife and I live in Italy and have Italian Health Card, called Tessera Sanitaria, that looks like a credit card and has a chip in it in. Of course it also has our names, addresses, etc. I've been told they are valid for use in France. Is that correct? We will be in Paris from 16 April to 16 May.

i hope you are already here.as its in regard of health and medicine  so you can go to any medicine shop and ask them it will work or not;they have machine to veryfy it.otherwise in every village you can find maladie assurance office which controls all the aspect of health related matters;so you can go to any of these offices and ask in the reception whether it will work or not!

Your Italian Card will not work in France - you need to apply to the Italian social security for a separate card for use outwith Italy - the European Health Insurance Card.
