How about tattoos?

Post new topic

This is probably a longshot, but does anyone know of any really awesome tattoo parlors? Preferably in/around Antwerpen, but really if a place does awesome work I'd be willing to travel a couple hrs for it.

Also does anyone know the typical rates? My only ink was done over a decade ago in the States, so I'm afraid I wouldn't have the slightest clue what a good price vs seriously overcharged, etc, would be...

Try asking the question on this site: http://tattooplatform.be/

Or check out this list: http://aplink.wordpress.com/2009/12/05/ … tat2-2010/ There are a few Belgians on it.

But from what I hear the Netherlands have much better artists. Maybe ask your question on that country's forum?

Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions, globetrotter.

Technically I wouldn't mind going to NL for it except the Belgian rail company recently turned idiotic and no longer has regular rail service there, and as such it is now a huge chore to try making small trips over the border that way. :(

Are you referring to the whole Fyra debacle?

Pity, the connection used to be good a couple of year ago when I regularly went to visit my husband who was on a mission there.
I guess that's public transport for you: great if it works, but in reality it rarely does.

I still think you should look into the Dutch artists, though. I think they have a good reputation.

Yeah it used to be great, the int'l train went every hour, everything smooth. Then they killed it for the like triple-the-price high speed one, then they realized most people are not made of money and that was massive fail, now they're kind of floundering around trying to figure out wth to do. urgh.

If it turns out to be managable, not spending ton of hrs on slow trains or paying a fortune, then I have nothing against Dutch artists, for sure. :)

In Wetteren, never been there but heard nothing but good things!

Thanks for the tip! :)
